Six Years

Can you believe it? It has been six years since our first preview worship experience at Journey! What an amazing 6 years! God has been so great to us to allow us to be part of what He is doing in Norman, the OKC area, and our country.

As I shared last week I'll being doing several post this week about the last 6 years. Today I want to focus on a few of the things that absolutely have rocked.

Here we go:

• God has allowed us to be part of reaching hundreds of people for Christ! I'll never forget my six months on staff at Lifechurch.tv, I became addicted to reaching people. I prayed that God would allow me to be part of a church that reached people - He answered that prayer! There has never been one Sunday in our history that someone didn't give their life to Christ! I love that God allows me to be part of reaching the lost!
• God has brought several thousand people together to be committed to leading people to become fully devoted followers of Christ!This past 8 weeks has illustrated that more than ever before as we have done Empowered and One Life. You, Journey folks, are committed to the vision God has given our church and again I LOVE IT! The sacrifice that you have shown over the years to make the vision a reality is reflects the attitude of Christ. You pray, you serve, you connect, you worship, you give, you reach - You are an amazing church!
• God has brought together an amazing staff team! I could not ask for a more devoted, committed group of people to work with! They are absolutely sold out to seeing a city transformed one life at a time. They are creative, they are fun, they are spiritual leaders, they are humble, they are confident in God - They are AMAZING! It is a privelege to work with our staff!
• God has always provided! It doesn't matter what the situation or season in Journey's history, God has always come through BIG! I'll never forget the day we found out we could use the Wal Mart - there is nothing like that day. But it wasn't the fact the Wal Mart came through, that was incredible, it was the fact that God came through!
• God has given us great partners in ministry! One of the things that Craig did for me was he introduced me to the ECC. (The Evangelical Covenant Church) I went through a church planting assessment to see if I had what it took to plant a church. After being "conditionally recommmended" we formed a partnership that has made all the difference in the world! We could not have accomplished what we have without God providing this great partnership.
• God has given us great friends to do life with! Robin and I are so fortunate to have the friends that God has brought into our lives. When we first moved 6 years ago it looked like a really long road ahead of us, we just moved to a new town and knew hardly anybody - God would change radically change that aspect of our lives! He has brought so many incredible people into our families lives as great friends - you are the one's that make the difference in our lives!

I could go on forever, but there are 6 things that have rocked over the past 6 years. Tomorrow will have a little fun and I'll share with ou 6 things we have done right, followed Wednesday by 6 things I have done wrong.
